                Christmas Shows

For 12 years, Stanislaus County PAL and its partners have hosted Christmas Shows for the children that attend SCPAL programs. These programs include performances by the children from our programs, performances from community groups and mascots from the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department, the California Highway Patrol, the Modesto Nuts and the Burbank-Paradise Fire Department. Of course it wouldn't be a Christmas Show without a visit from jolly old Santa Claus himself who came in with lights and sirens blazing on the hood of Sheriff's Dept. and CHP patrol cars. The children and parents were are also treated to music and games provided by TNT productions and refreshments provided by the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department.   Empire Elementary-After School Program

Empire Elementary School is one of SCPAL's longest running after school programs. The program has had a few changes in the last year with a new principle coming on board and new site manager. The program serves approximately 90 students a day and has a long waiting list. The parents are extremely supportive of the program and often assist by volunteering or donating supplies for our Empire celebrations. The daily schedule consists of snack, homework assistance, arts and crafts and recreational games. Before winter break, all the students who attend the after school program received an award during an after school assembly. It is the belief of the Site Manager Alma Sloan that all students excel in some part of their life and should be recognized for all their efforts. This belief helps to build a positive relationship between PAL and the community.
